This year's electives:

In 2010 we are sending Ashleigh Martin and Rachel Manning (left) to Anandaban Hospital, Nepal, Rebecca Hamill and Joanne Deacon (right)  to Premananda Hospital, Kolkotta, India and finally Karen Bell and Rhoda Kelso (below left) to Kothara Hospital, north India.

Each year we send out medical students to experience life working in leprosy hospitals in both India and Nepal.  Across India there are 18 Leprosy Mission hospitals, so there is a wide scope from which to choose from with an elective period in India.

As for Nepal there is just the one hospital, but it is twinned with The Leprosy Mission Northern Ireland, so the links here are very good.  It is located about 18 miles outside Kathmandu, Nepal's capital.
