Youth and Schools Work
Each year we visit over 100 schools and youth organisations to tell them about the work of The Leprosy Mission and the effects that leprosy still has today on many people in the world. The main bulk of the deputation work is done by Sam Smith, who is the Development Officer in TLM.
We go to many different groups all across Northern Ireland - here is an example of some of the places we visit:
R.E. classes, Assemblies, SU's, GB's from Rainbows to Company Section, Sunday Schools, BB's, YF's, Campaigners, CE's, Church Services and more.
If you'd like someone to come and speak at your group email info@tlm-ni.org or call 92629500 to set a date.
Projects:
Each year The Leprosy Mission has a young peoples project. Young people from around Northern Ireland raise money for the project in all sorts of ways - smartie tube collections, non uniform days, cake and bun sales, sponsored events and many more. All the money raised goes to the project, directly helping people who have been affected by leprosy. This years project is Skills 4 Life, raising money to help provide skills for young people through a Vocational Training Centre in India.
